PR Watch

Private promotion is not public consent.

Billbergia is free to promote its proposal. Residents are free to document that promotion and test every claim against the public record.

What residents are reporting

  • Information sessions at Marina Square.
  • Flyers and promotional material in mailboxes.
  • Phone calls and door-knocking by representatives.
  • Branded language describing the project as a community benefit.

What has been verified

  • Billbergia’s public website promotes ≈1,200 homes and two towers up to 50 storeys.
  • Information sessions are advertised publicly by the developer.
  • SSD-99885210 status on the NSW Planning Portal is Prepare EIS.

What is still unverified

  • The scripts used in phone calls and door-knocks.
  • Whether residents have been told the project is “already approved”.
  • Whether public benefits described in presentations are legally guaranteed.

Questions to ask at a Billbergia presentation

  • Is this an official public exhibition or private promotion?
  • Are all public benefits legally guaranteed?
  • How long is the shuttle bus guaranteed? Who pays for it?
  • What is the full GFA reconciliation?
  • Why should Wentworth Point accept 1,200 dwellings?
  • What happens if traffic, transport, school and open-space assumptions fail?
